Adobe Research in Bangalore invites PhD students from top universities to join as interns for the summer of 2025. This program offers an exciting opportunity to work on impactful research problems that are both academically significant and aligned with Adobe’s innovative product ecosystem.
Interns will collaborate with Adobe Research mentors to tackle challenges in areas such as Generative AI, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, Systems, GPU/AI frameworks, large model optimizations, and more. Key focuses include document understanding, video and image generation, and data management. Successful candidates will have prior publications in top-tier conferences such as NeurIPS, CVPR, ICML, ACL, and others.
During the internship, participants will develop new algorithms, conduct experiments, create demonstration prototypes, and potentially contribute to academic publications. Collaboration with Adobe product teams ensures practical applications of research outcomes, fostering lasting professional connections that could influence PhD theses.

Role and Responsibilities
Interns will work on challenging research problems that are both academically interesting and also can influence and benefit Adobe products.
We regularly publish papers at top tier conferences like, NeurIPS, ICML, CVPR, ECCV/ICCV, ACL, EMNLP, NSDI, SIGMOD, VLDB, AAAI, WebConf, CIKM etc.
PhD students interested in various aspects of Generative AI and with a few publications in top tier conferences and with a research focus on ML / NLP / Computer-vision / Systems / GPU and AI-Frameworks / Large model optimizations / Document understanding / Video and Image generation / Data-management — will be a good match for this role.
Our research labs are actively publishing in leading journals and conferences, work with product teams on high-profile features, and explore new product opportunities across various domains. We are especially interested in fostering ongoing collaborations that last beyond the internship and become part of your PhD thesis.
- Pursue a research problem to apply to Adobe’s products, with the possibility of academic publication
